Lasercut Works

Project Scope: Blog

We at LaserCut Works love working on fashion projects. We’ve recently worked with the likes of Alexander McQueen, Fintchittida and Kristian Aadnevik (to name but a few) on fashion projects laser cutting and engraving a range of materials for dresses, clothes and accessories. With London Fashion Week A/W 2016 still lingering in our memories we’ve been reminiscing about past projects we’ve worked on as well as perusing the web for laser cut fashion inspiration. So we’ve compiled a few of our favourite laser cut fashion pieces to share with you.

We love this black laser cut leather jacket from the Alexander McQueen A/W 2015 collection that Cate Blanchett is wearing. Whilst daring this piece is very wearable off the runway, as Cate Blanchett is showcasing, with it’s casual style. Leather is particularly satisfying to laser cut and engrave and gives a beautiful effect. At Lasercut Works we can laser cut most materials from leather to wood. We equally love this pink Vera Wang pink dress from S/S 2012. The circle cut out theme features heavily on this piece which makes it ultra unique which we think couldn’t be achieved without the use of laser cutting. The delicate material of this dress proves that pieces don’t need to be heavy or structured to gain the benefits of laser cutting.

This Iris Van Herpen’s Mesmerizing leather dress from the S/S 2012 Couture Collection is reminiscent of chain mail and body armour which has been achieved buy sewing pieces of material through laser cut pieces of leather. This dress, more of a runway piece than a wearable item of fashion, has a 3D feel only possible through laser cutting techniques.

Our favourite dress from the movies is this bright green number that Keira Knightley wore in the film “Atonement”. Due to the delicate nature of the dress many copies were made because of the laser cutting detail around the neckline that kept breaking during shooting. The laser cut elements around the neckline though are what make this dress unique.

These “Beloved” Laser-Cut patent leather pumps by Christian Louboutin are our most favourite piece of wearable fashion. The leather of the shoe has been laser cut to frame the foot with a unique leaf design as well as having a laser cut and laser engraved flower motif to create a beautiful design on the shoe. These white leather heels would be the perfect footwear for your wedding day – a great reason to splash out on a pair.
